He needs to drop Katy K. One person wrote: "This would be great if you guys turned on the cameras. Keep learning and moving forward in the world please." Katy's response: "I can’t speak for Simon but I think you’re so judgmental. And rude. Bye." And I bet Katy blocked her on Twitter! 5 years to make an album with just this podcast to tie everyone over and some show in Ibiza. And why in the world is Simon asking for sponsorship? He can't afford it? "In order to license the tracks to play them on the show." Aren't they worth millions? I didn’t see this. Was this on DD’s Twitter or KK’s Twitter? It doesn’t surprise me. The irony of it is that she was just as rude - to a fan. A strange way to set an example. People will be vocal and it’s upto PR to embrace advice and indeed ‘learn’.

I'll tell you another thing, too: I'm getting sick of seeing that same smug picture of Simon every time a new one of these things comes out. I'm about to go add "WHOOOSH" to my list of filtered terms on Twitter lol. I thought it was just me thinking that! Lol

I just checked the 48 min mark (after 47 and upto 49 on the link and I couldn’t see anything? I couldn’t listen to anymore. Katy’s whining was unbearable. Also, we have to apparently play the songs featured on Spotify ourselves. Is this because HQ can’t afford the fees? Is this the sponsorship Simon was asking for?

Sorry my mistake its starts around 47:30ish. It's where Simon goes, "We ain't got no, we ain't got no, doodah (spelling?)" Katy says, "We don't have a license to play the songs..." before Simon talks about not having the doodah.

I found Katy's tweet, a response to someone's tweet in regards to the show. The original tweet was a little rude (keyboard warriors are lame), so I'm wondering if Katy was familiar with this person from other interactions which might explain her response. That said, best practice is to simply ignore the haters. You can listen to the show in it's entirety (songs and commentary) here: radio.duranduran.com/It is formatted this way because the show is essentially a Spotify playlist. There is no revenue derived from the show--Simon and Katy are just doing it for fun.

I haven't experienced any hate from Katy as most of my exposure to her has been on Whooosh!, her contributions to DD's social media accounts, and Ask Katy on dd.com. I don't follow her personally on social media. My ignore the haters comment was general advice. I personally ignore keyboard warriors/haters and that's the advice I give to anyone who gets fired up over negative social media (and message board) commentary. Life is too short.

I don’t listen anymore because I find it a bit cringeworthy. Katy seems to find the least amusing things really funny. I’m not sure if this is genuine or not. Also, I thought we shared the same name but I now realise we don’t because she pronounces hers “Catie”. That is strange. I haven’t heard of anyone with that name before. I’m sure she is lovely in person, but that doesn’t translate in these podcasts.
