SO! I got a notice for Jury Duty...AGAIN! I don't know why I keep getting them, I mean, I never get chosen because of my faith but they seem to want to keep calling me back. SO here is my question, (& in high in site it's kinda funny) BUT! Should I ignore the letter, being I haven't opened it yet and it came to my mom & dad's address after all and pretend that I never got it OR should I put NOT AT THIS ADDRESS on the letter and send it back? OH and now that Hubby works for the prison system they wouldn't ask me to be on a Jury anyway. So why waist my time and theirs?

Being that it's more of waste of tax payers money for you to go and then go through the question process, when you KNOW they will disqualify you anyways....
I say write 'not at this address' on the label and send it back to the post office....
if you want to get super anal about it, then have your mum or dad do it so you didnt do that yourself...
I say either way, you are being moral....

You have to actually show up without having to do a questionaire first? This must be a civil case then?
You could always call and tell them your circumstances, that you know you'll be disqualified and see if you can streamline the process, rather than waste their time.

Last time I went, I sat in a room with about 200 people for two hours (where you fill in a questionair) then we were put into groups of who could sit on a jury for a long time and who couldn't and who had other responsibilities, then (hour three) we were taken into the court room where we were asked questions about our lives & morals & this is where I say "I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I don't feel comfortable judging anyones life and I feel God is the only judge." Or something like that, then the Judge tells me to go home. Laaaaaame waist of five hours!

I've had police come to my door looking for a past resident who was supposed to show up for jury duty though.

The address is on my drivers license because when we first moved here it is where we were staying but now I don't live there so to say I'm NOT AT THIS ADDRESS would not be a lie....but if the cops did show up here (which I doubt) my dad would have to tell them where I do live....So I'm just gonna send it back I think.
