Well...
Yes, actually when I went to Simply Red concert in the National Auditorium -Mexico City-, I was surprided by them, cause so far, is the best concer I ever been, is the only band I've heard live and have an amazing "acoustic"?
And in October 19th 2001, Eric Clapton came to Mexico, and I got a big amusement face when I heard him sing "Somewhere over the rainbow". It was magic.
Bon Jovi as well in April 2001, they started to played "Tequila" and made all the people in there dance and sing like crazy that simple song -lol-... well Mexico, Tequila land!

Robert De Niro grabbed my ass at a Walgreens a couple of years ago. THAT was a surprise, I can tell you!

neil finn. the first time i saw crowded house he had the entire place singing along to "don't dream it's over" and let someone come on stage and sing backup, too. and he took song requests from audience members. that was surprising and it never ceases to amaze me that he still does this.
last night, he invited an audience member on stage to play keyboards on "don't dream it's over." then he called his dad in new zealand so that he could sing his dad's favorite jazz standard live into the phone.
can't you tell i have a tad bit of idol worship?

Actually, I saw Don Henley Wednesday night and he was really good. I didn't think I'd like him all that much. I was pleasantly surprised.

In a roundabout way, yes. A dear friend of mine (RIP) was very sick and dying from AIDS when Patti LaBelle was in town for a show. My friend's partner went to the show and hung around the backstage door for quite a while until Patti came out. There were quite a few people there and he got a few quick words with her and explained how much Jesse loved her and was in the hopsital. All he wanted was to get a picture or autograph and do you know what this incredible lady did? She asked for the Hospital phone # and his room number and told my friend that she would call him after she got settled in at the hotel and SHE DID JUST THAT. It was about 1a.m. when she rang and the : almost didn't believe her but she put the call through and Patti talked to Jesse for about 20 minutes! I bawled my eyes out when I heard this story. That lady is a CLASS ACT and it's so nice to hear such compassionate, unselfish stories like that.
**bows down to Ms. LaBelle!**
