During the summer of 2002, I attended the "Area Two" concert which featured artists such as "Diesel Boys, Blue Men, Wu Tang Clan, Moby and David Bowie. The big surprise of the evening (for me) was when David Bowie did a an Elvis tribute because it was the anniversary of his death. The song David performed was the Elvis single called "One Night With You" and to my surprise the song fit Bowie's voice perfectly. My question is has a celebrity ever surprised you in the professional sense?

I'd say Pink.
I saw her open for Lenny Kravitz a few years ago and didn't really know much of her music (I still don't, other than what's played on the radio).
She sang 2 songs a capella and blew me away!!!!! Despite some of her corny songs ,she can sing and really has an amazingly strong voice.

Micky Dolenz. He has this amazing operatic voice. Completely floored me.

It was around 93/94 when I went to see Bryan Adams at MSG and Sting was playing a separate show on the same night at the Theather at MSG(Paramount at the time). During "All For Love" near the end of the show, Sting came out to sing the song, as it was a hit song from the "Three Musketteers" soundtrack that they had recorded with Rod Stewart. Everyone went ballistic. That was quite a shock but certainly a surprise

Are you serious? The actor who played the vampire named, Spike on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" has soft skin?

Mark took me to see the Stereophonics in London and during one of the songs Ronnie Wood walked out and played with them. I nearly fell out of my seat I was so excited!! I just kept saying, "I saw a Stone! I saw a Stone!" ;D ;D ;D ...and he rocked! (and no, I haven't made it to a Rolling Stones concert....and yeah, I know, time is running out! )

Mick Jagger. He sprints up and down the stage like a track star, dances like a idiot, but somehow it comes off just plain cool when he does it, and gets girls young enough to be his daughter to flash their boobies at him. Keith Richards being alive still is suprising enough to me.

I saw Ray Charles play under the Arch in St. Louis in July 2000. The surprise was not only how energetic his performance was (especially given his age) but that I was actually moved to tears when he sang "Georgia on My Mind." Wasn't ready for that.
