Our phone numbers are registered on the DoNotCall List but lately we have been getting ALOT of calls to do research polls. Have any of you been getting calls lately? I am sick of it. I know they are exempt from the list but come on already. Leave me alone.
If you get calls, who do you get them from?

Companies sell names and phone numbers to others for market research and telemarketing. For some reason these companies are exempt from the do not call list. This is because the customer previously did business of some sort with the first company. I don't think it's fair. Credit cards are the worst. Years ago I did market research. Most of the people called had done business with a magazine company. The magazine company sold the list to us. Currently I get calls from the papers. They try to get me to subscribe. I also get calls from credit card companies. Usually to sell insurance.

I imagine the laws vary state to state because we never get any credit card phone calls here. THANK GOD.
I'd have to go postal if that started happening.

If you make a contribution to a political or social group, expect to get more calls from other groups. I give money to various animal organizations. I get every charity asking for donations. I have never given money via the phone. I've also given money to political groups. Every week or so I get someone else calling. It's really bad around election time. I am glad I have caller ID.

We get calls from credit card companies all the time and it drives me mad! Got one last night, in fact. We also get a lot of survey calls from radio stations, which I actually enjoy because I tell them how much I loathe commercial radio. ;D

We get calls about services and or products... i generally tell them I'm busy and can't do it right now.. And they ask what is a better time.. I tend to tell them a time when I know we won't be home..
Hmmm we had one the other day and he asked if he could call back in about an hour so because we were eating dinner.. Hmm he never called back.. HA..
I know the research is important for the producer of the product.. but why make it so far hard to give a proper answer or make the survey so bloody long.. That it takes an hour to do.. That you and the surveyor are bored to tears..
the hubby and me both do different on-line surveys that gets sent to our e-mail.. Where we can do them when we want and take as long as we need to finish them..

I tell them I am not eligible since I've worked in radio (and will likely work again in radio). The worst was this company that asked me to rate songs. I thought this would be fun at first. I even lied about working in radio to do it. They started calling every day. It got to be a nuisance. Now I screen calls.

I am on the do not call list but occasionally some company or organization gets through, but if you tell them to take your number off their call list they must do so by law.
Do the same for credit card company calls. Whenever they send you their privacy policy, usually stuck in with a bill hoping you won't see it ;-), take a minute to fill it out and opt-out of all those third party calls too. It all helps in the end.

They have all the songs clips on a site were he logs in and can listen and rate at his pleasure.. They give a time limit to finish like a month.. Could be less.. So he can do a few songs at time and log out and go back later and do a few more etc..
