HEy!
Pstttt
Not all the bodies work in the same way... I am way taller than any woman where I live, and I had C section because my baby never got enough space to born in the "normal" way... so, all that myth pain and thoughts about giving birth are just that, myths! I had more pain and damage in my spine with the anesthesia, so if I could have chossen normal, I did. But the best safe way for baby was C-section, so I choose the best for baby.
And many babies in Mexico are bigger and taller than anybody else, because of the life they have, so babies for surviving get stronger and taller than anyone. Those mothers are working in the fields, live in poverty, and walk and work too much to give the minimum to their families, not lying down as we use to do it. And about the sugar, is people who usually eat corn, tortillas, beans and chili, so no surprise for me, and is normal.

damn! My biggest was almost nine pounds and I thought I was dying........
Patty's right, though.........everybody thought my sister would just pop 'em out--she had really wide hips from the time she was about 13 and I was built like a twelve year old boy until after my first child was born. (My mom's words.........'like her Dad, all legs, no butt........) Mom was a :, and she was more than a little concerned when I was expecting my first.
I delivered him naturally--there was only talk of a C-Section because of my heart condition, and they wanted the baby delivered fast.
My sister will never be able to have a baby naturally, she has a condition called CPD (cephalo-pelvic dispropriation) that will not allow the baby's head to come down.
Don't let the wide hips fool ya.

@ somenewromantic I hear ya... My first baby boy was 9 lbs. 8 1/2 oz. My total weight during that pregnancy was 152. I looked like I was carrying twins! But I managed.... and now at nine years old, he is a stick. All legs and arms! You would never know he was a chunky ( ) baby! Wendy

I'm glad that narrow hips doesn't always mean c-section. I think that's one reason I was leaning against have children.

They just showed him on the news next to a normal sized newborn...he looks like the size of a toddler! I can't imagine lugging that baby around for 9 mos.

I have no hips/narrow hips even after giving to birth to my son.. He was of normal weight but was a little longer then average..
They almost went with the C-section.. Not because of my narrow hips.. But because Of the My hight Blood pressure I developed.. And they kept losing he heart beat.. But i was able to birth naturally... But I was also hooked up to every machine they had there..
My son was just fine considering my blood pressure was through the roof..
