I'll listen to it with as much of an open mind as I can, but I admit to having very strong likes and dislikes when it comes to production and effects, etc.

i got a copy of this for christmas and i love most of it. i agree with john. it's really fresh and in touch with what is happening now. my hubby is always saying i can find duran in anything if i try hard enough, but after listening to it, i see some influence there. i put in astronaut immediately after it and heard a LOT of simlarities in content and production. i, for one, am looking forward to the collaboration with timberlake and timbaland. whaddya think? I totally agree with you!!! Nice to see others thinking the same

I really like both Justin's albums - I love the funky element. (very Duran ) I can't wait to see hear the new stuff... and for those who don't like Justin's solo work or can't imagine how the combination could work - I don't much like Sting, but I love Arcadia... ;D

I love Timberlake's album. I really do.
And, I *will* comment on something I haven't heard yet, based on past collaborations. (Nelly Furtado and Beck, just to mention two.) It's natural to wonder what will happen, for goodness' sakes!
There are people looking *forward* to the collaboration, and they haven't heard anything either!
When Nick says that the new album's three tracks sound like another hand is definitely in them, separate from the other tracks that Timbaland didn't produce, it makes me wonder how the album will flow. Can anyone honestly say that the quote from Nick didn't raise (or knit) an eyebrow or two?
Yes, I will buy it. Yes, I will go to a DD show in Chicago in the summer '07 tour. Why? Because I love the band and their music...even the "bad" stuff!

I was not a Timberlake fan at all before this CD. When I heard it, I changed my mind. I love it!
I can't wait to hear the new DD release. I can't even imagine what it will be like......hopefully wonderful!

I can't wait to hear the new album, of course, and I'm really looking forward to the Timbaland tracks. The guy has immense talent as a producer, he's at the top of his game right now, and DD was lucky to get him.
As for the other Timb, I've liked both of his last two albums. But even if I didn't, I don't think he's actually writing a song for DD or anything, just contributing to a track. DD has enough ego-driven control freaks to protect their sound from the insidious attack of Justin Timberlake. Can you really see Simon Le Bon taking a back seat on the vocals to anyone, no matter how in love he is with him? On a Duran Duran album?
Should be a fun experiment at the very least, and highly marketable if they do it right.

I love Timbaland and always have. I have pretty much every CD of every artist he's ever worked with except for Nelly Furtado. Justing Timberlake as a musical artist is just a wannabe end of story. We have one every few years. However, I will see Alpha Dog because it's based on a true story. :-) Robin Thicke is way better and doesn't get the accolades that he deserves. I agree with you about the wannabe comment. Not hating on Justin, I just find his transformation interesting (I believe he started off singing country tunes as a young tyke)... He's shrewd. With that said, I'm eagerly awaiting the new tracks with both Timbs. I like to shake my a$$ on the dancefloor, so anything that helps me accomplish this goal is a'ight with me! I've heard of Robin Thicke, but haven't actually heard any of his music. I'll have to check him out.

Sorry, but I CAN'T STAND Justin Timbersh*t. I don't like him and I don't like his music. I think that, next to U2, Timbersh*t is the MOST overplayed artist out there right now. I really don't know enough about Timberland to have an opinion about him. I just want Duran's new album to come out ASAP. I will buy the new album, whenever it comes out, but I am not too please about them working with Timbersh*t. It is fine for Duran to try something different, but why did it have to be Timbersh*t. I can't stand Sexy Back, Cry me a river or his new single. Please please, please boys, DON'T do it again. I hope that it doesn't back fire on them. I still would have rather of kept Andy then worked with Timbersh*t.
