This will become a long thread but I will mention my experience with them. When I was a member I got better tickets from being a VIP listener to several radio stations. Most of the photos and videos are posted elsewhere eventually. DDM is a rip off. The VIPs are overpriced. Many of the same people win the contests too. I was a member for a year and never renewed.

Wellllll, you do get pre-sales..... but, unless you pay through the nose for the vastly over-priced VIP offer, they're (in my experience) actually worse. I saw DD at the Lyceum in London for the RCM show, and I ended up selling my pre-sale ticket because it was right on the top balcony. Being so disappointed I ended up going online when the public tickets went on sale, and managed to get a standard ticket second row from the stage.
And.... yes, you do get video and picture exclusives, but they're like leap-years: they only come around once every few years.
In terms of exclusive merch? How does a DD beach towel grab you?

I prefer meet and greet the guys when they leave the hotels they are staying in. They are usually nice to the fans. Simon has been the nicest so far. He's really genuine, looks at your face with those lovely big blue eyes and tries to make a conversation.
As far as the tickets are concerned I don't need to be a DDM member to get the best tickets!

This is OT, but Adam Lambert just launched his official fan club and there's quite the fracas going on because for $175 a fan can buy the "Glitz package", which includes a meet & greet with Adam himself.
The trouble is, there's only 25 Glitz packages available per venue (Adam's currently on tour), and there's currently no limit on how many packages a fan can buy. So some fans went around and bought multiple packages, shutting other fans out of getting any M&G at all.
Some fans are pretty pissed about this, but the AFC management is saying they're not changing the policy. My guess is they'll change on the next tour, when they notice that Adam's meeting the same damn people at every venue. I tried to tell them about what happened with DDM (the same fans getting front row and M&Gs at every stop), but so far it's not having much of an impact.
The people who bought 3, 4, or 5 M&Gs are of course saying that those who are complaining about the unfairness are just sore losers. Not so in my case - I have no particular interest in meeting Adam - I just think the fair thing would be to limit the VIP experience to one per fan club member, per year. Oh well! They'll learn...

I was there for just a year and it was Ok but nothing special. fireskye, You'd have to be admin there and here to even be privy to that type of particular information....people use alternate "nicks" for different sites they belong to. Arrogant presumption would be you're only defense if you were not admin at either place. Maybe fireskye is an alt ID....who really knows, right? what the heck are you talking about? were you a member there or one of the ones who diss it without ever going??
