Other than Duran being on top, there is no particular order to the rest as far as which I love more...just roughly chronological to when I became a huge fan of each particular group/artist:
1. Duran Duran - Rio 2. U2 - The Joshua Tree 3. R.E.M. - Fables of the Reconstruction/Document (tie) 4. Simple Minds - Once Upon a Time 5. Van Halen - Fair Warning/Diver Down (tie) 6. Pink Floyd - Animals 7. Indigo Girls - Come On Now Social 8. Radiohead - OK Computer 9. Amanda Palmer - Who Killed Amanda Palmer 10. The New Pornographers - Challengers/Together (tie)

My CD/record collection is currently at 3414 items so paring down 10 wasn't easy. The other issue is, I think there is very little on this list of 10 that other people here would have ever heard of, let alone enjoy. Although EVERY duran duran fan should check out #10 on my list because it is a Swedish band that is highly influenced by duran duran and sound a lot like them, or at least what duran duran sounded like before this upcoming album. In Alphabetical order: 01. D-A-D - Everything Glows (2000) 02. duran duran - Medazzaland (1997) 03. Harvey Danger - King James Version (2000) 04. Imagine Dragons - Night Visions - UK Deluxe Edition (2013) 05. The Long Winters - Putting the Days to Bed (2006) 06. Nuno - Schizophonic (1996) 07. Placebo - Black Market Music (2000) 08. Queen - Jazz (1978) 09. Rush - Grace Under Pressure (1984) 10. The Sounds - Weekend (2013) It wasn't until I compiled this list that I realized what an amazing year in music 2000 was! These 3 albums and Pop Trash and some more albums I love that didn't make this list! WOAH 2000!!! I seem to also have 4 decades represented. That is a nice balance. D-A-D! Last band I expected to read in this poll...great great band, had the chance to catch them live here in Spain last year...great show!

Some observations: 1. Interesting Floyd choices - the last album of the "Waters years" and the last album of the "Gilmour years" (I don't really count The Endless River - it's more like the outtakes of Division Bell) 2. I nearly included Out of Time in a three way tie for my R.E.M. choice 3. Reveal is a very underrated R.E.M. album 4. I completely forgot to add Tori Amos to my list! My choices would probably be Little Earthquakes and From the Choirgirl Hotel.

I agree with you, "Reveal" is a very underrated album, when it was first released I had loved the album the moment I got the CD. As for PF, I still havent't listened to 'The Endless River', you are right, it is not a whole album actually, it is sort of compilation of outtakes off the division bell album which definitely does not give the feeling of a solid album. I don't like that. If you haven't already, I recommend you dive into The The. Brilliant lyrics, a superb musician. Matt Johnson has been my number one musician since 1990. Tori Amos is also great. Thanks to deezer, I've been exploring her albums and the result is fantastic!

Pink Floyd die-hard fan here too...I love The Final Cut too...funny! I think I never gave that album enough of a chance, as I suppose I've always fallen on the side of Gilmour in the "feud" (and the Final Cut came across to me as more of a Waters solo album, plus his treatment of Richard Wright pissed me off), although I know the truth is always somewhere in the middle and I have grown to very much respect Waters' artistry & personal views as well as his willingness to reconcile (more so, it seems, even then Gilmour's). Hmmm...will have to go revisit that old Requiem for the Postwar Dream, I suppose. Overall, I'm heartened to see to so many occurrences of my all-time faves like U2, R.E.M., Pink Floyd, & Radiohead (as well as other faves of mine like The Doors, Tori Amos, INXS, & Bjork...even Muse made an appearance - such a great band!), but it's even more interesting to see the breadth of artists I either like a bit, don't like, or haven't even heard of. Makes for a truly eclectic, healthy community here!
