I don't think that he's going to answer, or be opened to do doing this at all.
When I was a member of the DDM.com site in 2006, Michael was giving regular updates on the band's recording of the new album at that time. He was excited about what the band were putting together.
I remember reading, which was one of the last updates, how he did not understand how an established band with a deep history was opting to use outside help in creating music - when they owned their signature sound.
I'm paraphrasing a bit - but that's what I remember reading, I will check my vault to see if I kept a copy of that interview. But that last update came out in the August/September time frame - and then Andy was out of the band October 25 2006.

Ok....so does DD management/admin look at this site? Because the timing of that Instagram post seems really weird. Either way, he would be an amazing get for this site. I have just as many Diddy/Bad Boy and Reznor/Ross questions as I do DD-related.

I heard back today from Michael Patterson. He would be open to a Q&A as long as he could respond to any questions about Duran and the album by any means he chooses. That might be art, visuals, etc. Sounds intriguing!

QUESTIONS:
#1 - When you last worked on Reportage did you feel it was complete? We have heard that Andy and Roger thought it "needed more work" before being submitted to SONY. Your thoughts?
#1a - If you felt it was not totally "complete" what % would you say it was finished? 80 90 ?
#2 - When was the last time your spoke to Duran about "anything" to do with Reportage?
#3 - Any TALK of ever finishing it and MAYBE taking the BEST tracks and releasing it as the "LOST E.P."? That would be pretty cool.
#4 - Do you know if ANDY would be required to "sign off" on it at this point, or does DD "own" it currently and COULD do with it as they wish?
#5 - What were your 3 FAVORITE tracks on the record?
#6 - What would you most LIKEN the "sound" of Reportage to?
I can go on.....

If they did this for “Record Day” it would be be the most successful vinyl release they would have had in 30 years or so. The problem is whoever controls what they actually do hasn’t got a clue.
