They refuse to cut spending. In fact the governor likes to increase spending. Now we have a program in Illinois where the children and their parents (regardless of immigration status)get free healthcare AND tax cuts while the childless, and the corporations pay so much in taxes that many are leaving. Yet when people suggest cutting programs, such as for the parents people accuse others of being hatemongers, or racist (most on these programs are illegals and African Americans). I don't know where in the Constitution it states we should pay more in taxes so an illegal gets healthcare, while the rest of us don't. This isn't the only bloated program. I worked for the railroad and their spending is out of control and the head people have lobster dinners while they cut salaries and beg money from the government.
This is why next governors race I am either voting for the Republican or the third party candidate like Libertarian. The spending is out of control here.

Just blatant corruption. I believe in the notion of accepting the tired, the poor, but not by taxpayer health care. Individuals do that of their own volition if one has abundance and plenty which the US certainly doesn't. It is the US that is responsible for poor minorities and it will continue to create more poor, but now not just Mexicans, blacks or Irish.

La Princess...I was going to say I'm hurt by this but really I'm not ;D. You know I am conservative, but not opposed to abortion or gay marriage. People need to make their own choices because they are the ones who have to live with that choice even if I don't agree with it. I am against tax dollars going to pay for abortions (barring certain circumstances) because I feel it is morally wrong. And there are TONS of better places for our tax dollars to be going.
Side note: I'm not a heartless goon because I'm conservative, neither are my conservative friends. I think the media has painted a horrible picture of us that people believe. Personal responsibility is not a terrible thing. It's actually pretty empowering.

March I don't think you are heartless, but if we go by the far left they would say you and me were both heartless. I am mixed on abortion myself and while I personally wouldn't have a problem with tax dollars going to it, I know many are opposed and I feel it's wrong to pay for something one opposes. Actually, I don't even think it's wrong to be against gay marriage or abortion, I consider it a personal opinion.
I am a big believer in personal responsiblity. I am tired of paying for people's poor choices. Tired of paying more on my credit cards because irresponsible people got them. Tired of paying for people to have multiple babies by different people. Tired of all these ideas that we need to change things because people get offended. Tired of the obese people who blame McDonalds for their weight. And on and on. My parents taught me if I wanted something I had to work hard and get it. They taught me if something goes wrong it's usually (not always)because of a poor choice.
I don't think conservatives are evil, I think some are and so are some liberals. For the most part I think most people want what's best for the USA, just in different ways.

They're not really a far left. 'Fiscally' maybe in the aspects of envy and greed. Real far lefties would be out agitating against the wars, but the Obama swooners just ask if they can have some ketchup and fries with the dead innocents.
Just like the far right neo-cons are not conservative. You know, like a logical person or a holy person isn't one just because they claim they are.

They give him a pass. Like the other day he said he wants to increase visa workers. We all know visa workers means more competition (and of course more third world people)and if Bush said it the liberals would be protesting. However because it was Obama he's getting a pass from them. I don't give passes, I didn't on Bush and will not on Obama. I am opposed to these wars and foreign aid and that hasn't changed but now that Obama is president those opposed to them with Bush are fine with Obama doing the same stuff. These people are hypocrites.

The establishment is for globalisation. After having impoverished the rest of the world through the US, they do the same to the US. This whole competition based on low wages is a lie, common sense. In a fair world, people wouldn't be forced to become migrants, like many Mexicans, but the US wouldn't be number one either, by using war to destroy countries that would take away their competition. It really is the chickens coming home to roost.

True. They want this country to become poor. The middle class is dying and instead of fixing that Obama wants more visa workers.

Just wondering LP, have you read Liberty Defined or Revolution: A Manifesto? Very worth it. And unlike Dreams From My Fuhrer, not a lying, probably ghost written work of propaganda.

I don't think I've read either but will get them from my library. I'm always open to political thought books.
