I would agree with 49. I only count stuff released either in UK and/or US or Worldwide/Digital Era. I guess there's an argument that "Burning The Ground" was medley/mashup and not really an original song/single so shouldn't really count... "Nice" was definitely a single since there was an official release for purchase digitally.

Last Night in the City I would count personally. There were promos, digital and publicity.

Last Night in the City I would count personally. There were promos, digital and publicity. & as much as I don’t believe it’s one of their better works there was an official DD video for it too

Any song that was given a standalone release and artwork is a single. How that song is made available or promoted changes with the times. Paper Gods, Last Night in the City & You Kill Me With Silence also fall in that category.

Taking a deeper dive, Now I'm counting up to 54 singles (US or UK) that were commercially released physically or digitally and I own all of these. It really depends on what everyone considers since the single format has dramatically changed over 45 years. Definitely 50 major single releases now. Wow!
