I just finished listening to the s/t disc no. 1 (with my best hearing aids!) and it sounds very "sizzly". Not impressed. I am now halfway through the demos/versions disc and loving every second.

I'm not sure if this thread is meant to include opinions on the 7&TRT re-issue, but sadly I have to say the same thing about discs 1 and 2 of that set: "Sizzly". I actually have a headache, and I'm only part of the way through the 2nd disc.

I'm working on a comparison of all of the versions of this album released. So far I have in my computer : -Original UK vinyl (early pressing with silver embossed lines on the sleeve instead of the grey ones used in later editions) -The Dutch vinyl pressing I bought in 1985 -The japanese vinyl (early pressing with poster included) -1993 CD version without ITSISK and with To the Shore -1995 CD with ITSISK and To The Shore added at the end -2003 CD Remaster -2010 CD remaster So far the 1993 CD version sounds the best to my ears. I'll post a more detailed comparison later sorry but what 1993 cd are you talking about, according to the follwing link the first time that the original LP tracklist was released on cd (with to the shore in the correct position) was the 2003 remaster. www.ionpool.net/duran/debut.htmland the cd with to the shore at the end was 93 not 95......... do you have hard copies of these CDs. Can you check the details of the CD without ITSISK?

thanks for the link. i was beginning to think i was crazy and had some weird version of the cd ( it looks like i have the 1984 us release cd) or something. out of the three i own (this, 2003 remaster, and the new one), i prefer the 2003 one. though the fact that it's the only version i've got on cd that doesn't have a messed up girls on film sure doesn't help.
