Katy tweeted she's heard the new album.
So, if it's DONE, why isn't it OUT?!! They need to build on the Ronson momentum and the fact that what Nile touches right now is also gold. His name is in the press constantly at the moment.
I really do fear the curse of Durantime with this one.

Yeah, at least whack a catchy single out to test the waters.

I'm inclined to agree with Krush, she probably heard a rough cut of one of the songs and wanted to brag that she heard the album already. For someone in her position she really needs to work on her tact and watching how what she says is perceived.
For the guys sake, if they have something ready for release, I hope they do jump on the wave that Mark has got from Uptown. I hope they don't miss an opportunity when it's staring right at them.

Well, earlier this week some said that they had seen the title of DD#14 and that it was being pressed. Pressed? If true it implies that it is complete. Katy has a long, positive relationship with the band. I dare say that she would not have tweeted what she did without their blessings. Here is the actual Tweet. Someone in the Krassner-Hughes household has heard the new duranduran album. HMMMMMMMMMM…#SOWorthTheWait, #DD14

I guess she just couldn't contain herself. Can't really blame her for that. Yeah we can blame her for that - it's her job after all. It's bad enough that she does a job that everyone here would kill for (and some would say not a particularly good job of it), but then to gloat about hearing things before the fans is very unprofessional. I agree with Jamie - she needs to show more tact when she posts. I don't mind her saying something along the lines of "Have heard a few tracks off the new Duran album and they sound amazing, can't wait for the final result". That is respectful, understated, and suitable. As a liaison between Duran Duran and its fans she is entitled to be excited, after all she is a fan of the band just like all of us. But to say "Someone in the Krassner-Hughes household has heard the new duranduran album. HMMMMMMMMMM…#SOWorthTheWait, #DD14" comes across more as a "I've heard the new album, I'm so lucky but unfortunately you're not, na na na na na". She doesn't describe the sound of the album at all, or why it's great, just simply "hey guys, I've gotten to hear the album". What does saying that actually achieve? It would be nice if she actually had a reason for saying something, a reason that you know, fans could actually enjoy, so they had something to discuss or look forward to the new music. Nope, nothing like that. There is nothing for us to discuss or get excited about after that, other than what a crap job Katy does at times. And that doesn't excite me in the slightest. The Katy apologists will say "well she is probably under a strict NDA from the band and so can't elaborate on the album", and that is most probably true. Here's a pro-tip for her though - if she can't go into detail and make her posts interesting and likable, THEN DON'T POST ANYTHING AT ALL. Wait until she can do those things before she starts to gloat. Katy should make sure her posts/tweets etc come across as informative and appreciative, not as gloating. Sadly she failed on this occasion.

Ok, I'll say it, using your words, "well she is probably under a strict NDA from the band and so can't elaborate on the album"
I don't see it as gloating and in the end she says "#SOWorthTheWait," She's excited and is letting people know that she liked what she heard.
I don't have a problem with it and see it as a sign that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

its the same old story... all this secrecy and waiting, waiting, waiting with little to no information as though this new album was being produced by the CIA (fine... MI5)
we will all no doubt enjoy the album tremendously (have had a feeling this one would be very big for the band) but right now it's just a frustrating experience being a Duran Duran fan. As usual between albums.

I don't see it as gloating and in the end she says "#SOWorthTheWait," She's excited and is letting people know that she liked what she heard. Of course she is excited, we're all looking forward to it. But Katy saying "so worth the wait" means nothing; she is expected to endorse all of Duran's material. How long would she keep her job if she tweeted "Someone in the Krassner-Hughes household has heard the new duranduran album. HMMMMMMMMMM…#SOAverageBetterThanLibertyButWorseThanPopTrash, #DD14" She wouldn't keep the gig very long once the band got wind of it, would she? The band saying it's the best album since The Wedding Album means nothing. Nile Rodgers saying it's amazing and funky means nothing. Katy Krassner saying it's worth the wait means nothing. People not associated with the band or the album, non-Duran fans or skeptical critics, who hear it and say it's good or much better than they expected - THAT means something. And that goes for every new Duran Duran album in the future as well. The only good thing that can be taken out of Katy's tweet is that the album is finished. Unfortunately now the band have to shop it off to Record Labels who won't support it anyway, hence why we have to wait another six months before we get to hear it. Ahem, make that purchase it. Once the album hits the internet it will be available everywhere. I guarantee there will be threads posted on this and other Duran forums from people talking about the album who haven't even had a chance to purchase it yet. Thankfully most of the fans here will support the band and buy the record, but most casual listeners will just torrent it and not pay for it without a second thought. The perils of the internet.
