Yeah, again, their set list is shit. John recently said they were rehearsing 5 lesser played songs so they could switch them around night to night to keep it fresh but......TMI? Really? I bought a ticket to see them in San Fransisco next weekend, I live 5 hours North of there which means I'll be spending 10+ hours in a car to go see this set list. If Chic weren't playing with them I wouldn't have bought a ticket in the first place. It's weird to think that this will more than likely be the last time I see DD in concert.....

A realistic set list I could live with would be 5-6 PG songs - the ones we've seen performed already + You Kill Me with Silence (shocked this hasn't been played, yet) or Butterfly Girl (made for the DD stage, right?)
+
the same ol' hits (I've seen them 9 times and have seen White Lines only once, so it can stay)
+
2 - 3 golden nuggets that we know they're capable of playing (for the hardcores): Election Day, Tiger Tiger, Friends of Mine, Chauffeur, etc.
I would gladly sit through Sunrise knowing I'd just heard 2 of the above.

When the guys are pushing a new album, it's all hits and the new record. Next summer, when Paper Gods is winding down, is when they'll really start digging a little deeper. They do it every cycle. For instance, toward the end of the RCM tour they pulled out Election Day for the first time in forever... and it was DOPE! I know they've played it recently, but at the time it had been quite a while.

Time White Lines was kicked into touch - just embarrassing. Why not add Shadows and they know how to play Election Day and Careless Memories. OW will never go, but CU could go and we could have Save a Prayer instead

I really think they should bring back, "Electric Barbarella". It's the only song from GREATEST that gets neglected. Quintessential Duran Duran for me. I love this track as well..somehow it doesn't work well with Medazzaland for me though. I think EB, without checking, is track 1 on the album? I remember playing it for the first time (the album) and nothing else on there sounded similar to EB. But I will take your advice and will give it a 'spin' tomorrow. Medazzaland starts with what I think is their greatest 1-2-3 punch: Medazzaland, Big Bang Generation, Electric Barbarella. Only other album that comes close is maybe Notorious: Notorious, American Science, Skin Trade

I get annoyed that the whole period between TWA and whatever new album they are promoting gets ignored except for White Lines and Sunrise. There's no need for White Lines when they have a huge number of their own compositions that they can choose from.
I'd love to hear songs like Playing With Uranium, Electric Barbarella, What Happens Tomorrow, The Valley, Leopard etc.
Going by the set lists since Paper Gods was released, nothing from All You Need Is Now will survive on the Paper Gods tour despite it being a very positively received album in their fan base. And that's a shame.
And the set list should be three or four tracks longer to help accommodate their extensive back catalogue.

Some variety would be nice. If they keep playing the same songs for the next ten years I will still continue seeing them for the next ten years. I just love them live, call it my drug of choice!e
EDIT Unfortunately I will not be seeing them in New York next week, I just passed on the chance. New York is only a four hour ride from my place, but I can't stand the venue and I really don't like radio festival events! I will catch them next year in Boston, NYC, Philladelphia and Connecticut for sure! West Coast is a possibility. I can't wait
