Princess, Obama and the democrats have been trying. Everything they do gets blocked by the House, or by the far right extremist filibusters in the Senate.
As for the redistricting, did you hear about the lawsuits in Texas? Hopefully they'll ban jerrymandering by 2016.
The talk shows will be an issue either way. If he does them, then he's shirking his duties, if he doesn't then he's hiding away in the White House and failing at transparency and accessability.

I do have to address a point I made earlier.
Ashes, if you knew who I am, you would know that I was the one that originally posted the AP report on Cheney getting the $30Million contract to salvage abandoned railyards (and the scrap brought in several more million, tax-free, btw) to build FEMA shelters for disaster victims. I am also the one that debunked every single example of a "FEMA POW camp" that I came across.
And Snopes is a very reliable source, as is FactCheck.
MM, you claim that drug use in Florida is rampant, even though ALL news reports show that the drug tests prove only 2% of Florida welfare recipients are using drugs.
2% is not rampant. And you knew that.
Lies.

So that's how it is. When you defend a tyrant you support, eventually you'll have to make excuses for the tyrants you purportedly hate too. You've gone so far in one direction you're meeting the tyrants in the middle (or however that axiom went), that you're now able to defend Cheney's actions as benign. Yes sure they're for disaster victims. You've drank all of the kool aid at the party, why hold back those last few drops.
And ofcourse I've never seen you explain why Snopes and Factcheck are not quite against the mainstream theory on 9/11. Explaining that would be a bit convulted even for you. I wonder what's holding you back from joining a new Ministry of Propaganda if there is one. Typing away for Cass Sunstein and Hillary would be a dream, since that's what you do in your spare time anyway.

Are you talking about the Texas districts they are trying to make very Republican by absorbing the Hispanic areas? If that's the case, that is very wrong. The whole redistricting that is happening is pretty bad because politicians are doing it to get what they want like Jackson. Unfortunately I don't see the Democrats fighting too much for what they want, though to be fair Obama tried to pass through stricter outsourcing rules but many opposed it including Leiberman (who is the worst politician on either side).

And you knew that. Lies. Huh? I didn't say anything about Florida or drug use there. I visit for 2 weeks every year for vacation but that certainly makes me no expert on Florida. Did we forget his first two years, when he had a democratic controlled house and senate and he could do anything he wanted? That was back in the "we've got to pass the bills to see what's in them" days. Obama has blamed many, many things for his failure: Bush An earthquake The Tea Party "The rich" Republicans Talk Radio The Founding Fathers Hannity Glenn Beck The American people Congress ATM machines Too little govt spending Too few taxes Standard and Poor's Oil companies A heat wave Gulf oil spill the debt limit the arab spring Bush tax cuts bad luck He'd be much better off to admit his failure and talk about how he's going to make improvements. Refusing to admit you failed or you were wrong is a sign of weakness. It takes a strong person to admit you are an utter failure.

But when Obama got in power Speaker of the House was Queen Nancy who was far more interested in wasting taxpayer money on jet parties than fixing the economy.

Can't wait for the Michigan primary to be over today!! It's been nothing but Romney and Santorum ads on radio and TV for the past week.
I haven't seen much of Gingrich or Paul around so they likely won't have much of a presence in the results.
