Just a littel tidbit - one of the Today show anchors mentioned Beef on Weck and how she craved it. I think they are doing a best sandwich in America contest now.
Also you can Fed Ex Andersons including the custard so now I know what I'm ordering for my birthday next year!!

I don't miss any food from my hometown. We just moved back and we certainly didn't move back for the food!! If you are into meat and potatoes and fast food it's great. If not...you are SOL. People aren't very adventurous here.
I lived in Hawaii for a few years and I really miss the sashimi there and the awesome steamed dumplings served at this downtown Chinese restaurant (can't remember the name). Oh, and I really loved eating Korean BBQ at Yummy's:)
I also lived in southern California for six years and I really miss the local, authentic Mexican places.

I carted home a cardboard suitcase of White Castle cheeseburgers to NH from NYC in June for Mr. OC who is from St. Louis and misses them terribly. Guadaloupe at the Whitey's on 8th Ave. was delighted to make them for me that moning at 7 a.m. And they stunk up the car the whole way home. ;D Yes, yes they did. It was a very.... aromatic trip. When I lived in Michigan I used to have my mom ship me containers of marshmallow Fluff - you could buy it there, but only in teeny little itty bitty jars they kept in the baking aisle. Nobody there had ever heard of a Fluffernutter - sad. Of course now that I'm back in New Hampshire I barely ever buy the stuff.

All you Buffalo people....I only get up that way a few times a year (Ellicottville) and I am ADDICTED to Anchor Bar wings. No one can duplicate them. Don't really care for sponge candy and Mighty Taco has the best ads!!! Also there's a lady in the Amish community in Cattaragaus named Melinda that makes the best candy ever!

I stopped at Mighty Taco on my way out of Buffalo and I was wearing my 1978 shirt, which meant I had to explain what it meant to the teenage waiting on me. Never heard of Duran, but he was hoot and a half. So I pass this on to all the Buffalo people, please fill out the comment card to add Root Beer to the pop they offer. Got the Super Mighty combo with Loganberry and I was a happy girl. edit - I drove through Ellicottville. It's great little town. link to Might Taco ads www.mightytaco.com/good_tv.html
