So I just listened to AYNIN on youtube and I am mighty Underwhelmed..
Love the chorus but HATE the verses and the synth 'buzz' sound that accompanies that start of the track, to me sounds like that verse has NO place in the track.
Would even say its like two songs stuck together with tape to make one track which just doesn't work IMO
Whats with the crowd noise at the end of the track as well???
I don't think this will do fcku all in the charts, ''blame the machine' and ''being followed'' are miles better and thats from just a 30 sec snippet.
As for sounding like ''Rio'' era or ''Seven and the Ragged Tiger'' LOL the verse sounds more like something from ''Big Thing'' era

Everyone has their own take, but personally I love the contrast between the verses and the chorus.

I like it...but on the same token I am not sure I love the changes in time between the verses and the chorus. I also think it's a little bit heavy on the electro, but not unbearably so - it's still Duran in all of that. I find that it sounds pretty flat - all recorded/mixed at the same level, and I know that's commonplace nowadays. HOWEVER, I'm only hearing what is being made available on youtube and I respect that it's a very compressed file (as is an MP3....but not as bad as this), so I'm hopeful that I will feel and hear differently when I have the iTunes track, and even more so once I hear the physical CD. I do really like the song though, I don't want people to read this and think that I don't - I just want to give a balanced "view" of what I heard. I could have come on here and said it was amazing and blew my mind and left it at that. All of that said, when I hear that chorus - that is SO Duran Duran. Gave me chills to hear it...and I can't WAIT to hear it live. I think the lyrics & vocals sound fantastic - I'm not sure what someone would be expecting. The lyrics themselves are beautiful - and the song is very much about US if you listen. It makes NO difference how long you've been a fan and how many times you've seen them live. I've been a fan since 1981 and I've seen them more than a dozen times (I can't remember how many now) - I know others that have been a fan that long and seen over a 100 shows at this point, and I know people from here who are much younger than I am and have probably not seen them as many times, and they all have their own opinions on the song.

Actually, no - youtube does not have the same quality of sound. I know they *say* they do, but the thing is, every time you take a file and copy it - so say I have the original, I copy it and give it to you, then you copy it and send it to a friend - the file becomes more compressed. It's the way it all works - some information gets lost every time you copy. Something like SoundCloud though - they don't compress files the way that youtube (or MP3's) does/do - so you get a truer sound.

[/b] Here we go, the ''Im' a bigger fan than you'' bullshit!!!! EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion, ther reason I stated how long and how many was in case somone said you know f___ all about the band etc...it was NOT to suggest how big or not a fan I was!!!

[/quote] Whoa, whoa whoa....don't be an @ss. The fact is - YOU are the one who posted that crap about how long you've been a fan, as if that was going to substantiate your opinion. It makes ZERO difference how long you've been a fan - that's my whole f*cking point. You're still allowed your opinion regardless of who agrees or doesn't agree. There are people who have been fans way longer than I am, and I'm not saying I'm any bigger of a fan than anyone else - hardly!!! Hell, I don't give a sh*t how long anybody has been a fan. You could have showed up here yesterday off of a turnip truck and I'd still have said you're entitled to your own opinion. GEESH. Get off of your high horse, grab some coffee and settle down....

ROFL Yeah, perhaps coffee was the wrong suggestion at this point. It's early my time - I relax with my cup in the morning before I start the day. LOLOL
