I don't even know how much it's gonna be here in the uk to buy, if it's like the average (7.99) then I think that's f*ck all for 9 new DD songs. I personally don't see any of this as an issue at all and I'm amazed that some people do. (actually I take that back nothing amazes me on a Duran Duran message board)

Well I guess not everyone can afford to buy it twice, that's understandable to me.
Anyone who doesn't get that should just consider themselves fortunate to not have to watch their hard earned pennies rather than being so dismissive of others financial situations.
It's gonna be a hard call for a lot of people. Not everyone earns big money you know. A measly £10 can pay for a lot of things that are essential for a lot of people, like: food, electricity, etc.

It's not as if the band as a gun to our heads saying 'if you don't download it from iTunes you can't buy a physical copy.' it's even out there for free for those that want a physical copy but can't afford it twice. There is no argument here what so ever.

what if i-tunes messes up and puts the 9trks out for FREE? And makes the EP available for everyone and not just Europe?
Seriously, it could happen.

But it was a pretty good argument towards the folk who were complaining at the possible price of the download when really they have no grounds to when they have already downloaded it for free. It's an empty argument really. There is a choice and it's up to the individual to make the right one for them.

But at the root of it, I don't think that's what the argument is about. It all sort of started because of this post: As if accusing those who aren't buying both versions to be lesser fans.

Up to a point of kind of agree with that other quote. Don't get me wrong i don't think it makes people lesser fans but if you can afford a PC/laptop and pay for the broadband to download the album for free, I hope you can afford to save $9 over 3 years for a download of a new album by possibly your favourite band. I don't mean this to sounds as harsh as it does so apologies.

"I" can't afford crap, it's not my money I'd be spending here. It's about convincing the breadwinner of the household (in this case my husband) to buy an album twice that he isn't even remotely interested in. - And that's a very hard sell. Don't get me wrong here. I WILL be buying both, but that is thanks to it being the holiday season and the ever-useful gift card.
