I have not read it yet (since I am still trudging through HBP) but I am reading these spoilers. Fred dies? Oh my goodness! I thought he just lost an ear. Not happy about that. I liked Tonks, too. But Hedwig? Did you have to kill her, even on accident? I briefly read that part and I will probably have to skip over it when I actually read the book. The Dursleys die? Do we find out what is the story behind Petunia?

george loses an ear ... and he's full of jokes about it! yeah, when hedwig dies; so sad! That's what was so desperate about the first few chapters. it was war from the beginning, unlike the previous books which start with harry lonely, pining for hogwarts. I thought i wouldn't be able to keep up with the pace. i was glad when the wedding planning started and things slowed down for several chapters. i'm sorry snape had to die. it would have been nice for him to have a reprieve after all his trouble.
After Harry sees what's in the pensieve i thought JKR had flipped the script and we were gonna find out that dumbledoor never really cared for harry and was only sending him to his death "for the greater good". i was prepared to be so mad!!

I cried almost all the way though the book . I got it about 12.15 am and by the time 3 am rolled around, I was in tears by the last page.
a very good way to wrap up a good book.

OK, the one thing that's missing...
Where is McGonagal? Is she the new headmistress?

I'm done. No, the 19 years later chapter mentions Longbottom teaching Herbology, but not who the new headmaster is. Maybe I read the end too fast.
