I wonder what's the 'rarest' DD track you've got in your collection?

Well, Simon singing on Hazel O'Connor's single that I posted is not all too well known. Is there much that is so rare these days? Now that people can share so easily things that were long lost for decades, it is hard to really say what is rare. I suppose actually owning some of those tracks is rare. I have the GOF instrumental from the Greek 12" tote bag. I know it was finally put out there, but for a long time, that was the only way to get it.

Danny Reddington at Reddingtons Rare Records in Birmingham once showed me a locally pressed 1979 7" single with JT (or Nigel as he was listed on the cover) playing.....drums! Yes I know it sounds odd- but Reddington's got a good reputation in the biz, so it was either genuine or he was mistaken. Certainly knew his Duran!

I have a list but not sure what's considered rare or not. I have Andy Wickett singing on some tracks and several demos.

What Miss November Tuesday said is quite true; with such easy availability of nearly everything today on the 'net, what's truly "rare" anymore ? Also, consider your audience: we're DD fanatics ! We may have heard--or own--pretty much everything DD has put out, but the typical music fan today has never heard of this stuff, so it might be rare to them.
That being said, remember when their early B-sides were rare and hard to find ? Gah, we felt so lucky having those--whether we owned the actual records, or had recordings of them. THAT was the super cool "rarity" I liked being a part of, even if makes me an old fart, lol.
p.s. I guess the rarest tracks I own now are the early DD tracks w/Andy Wickett singing, before Simon was in the band.
